San Francisco, October 1, 2019—The Walt Disney Family Museum is delighted to once again host The Big Draw, the world’s largest drawing festival. This annual, museum-wide community event will take place on Saturday, October 5 and celebrates Walt Disney’s contributions to visual arts.
The Walt Disney Family Museum is pleased to announce its 2019 community access exhibition, A Powerful Force: Working to End Homelessness Through Art. Featuring original artwork created by young people experiencing homelessness, the exhibition’s title was inspired by Walt Disney himself: “There is great comfort and inspiration in this feeling of close human relationships and its bearing on our mutual fortunes—a powerful force to overcome the tough breaks which are certain to come for most of us from time to time.”
The Walt Disney Family Museum is proud to announce the addition of two new members to the museum’s Board of Directors and two new members of the Advisory Committee.
Join us in celebrating the distinctive talents and enduring influence of Walt Disney Studios’ most celebrated artists, playfully dubbed the “Nine Old Men” by Walt Disney, featuring never-before-seen artwork from all animated features beginning with Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937), to The Fox and the Hound (1981).
Immerse yourself in some of the most unforgettable characters of our time, from the imposing Beast and fearless Tarzan, to the daring heroines Ariel, Pocahontas, and Rapunzel.
Enjoy our annual holiday tradition: an immersive seasonal installation celebrating Walt’s family and love of trains, on view from November 9, 2017 to January 8, 2018.
