Inspired by Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937), Cinderella (1950), and Sleeping Beauty (1959), Enchanted (2007) follows Giselle, played by Academy Award®-nominee Amy Adams, as she is transported by the evil Queen Narissa, played by Academy Award-winner Susan Sarandon, from the animated kingdom of Andalasia to the bustling real world of New York City. Longing to return to Andalasia to experience “true love’s kiss,” Giselle learns to adapt to New York with the help of Robert Philip, a handsome but cynical divorce lawyer, and his young daughter. Fall in love with this 21st century fairytale and enjoy enchanting musical numbers with lyrics written by Broadway legend Stephen Schwartz and melodies composed by Disney Legend Alan Menken.
The Muppet Movie (1979)
Puppeteered and voiced by The Muppets’ visionary creator Jim Henson, Kermit the Frog’s dreams of fame and city living come true when he is discovered by a Hollywood agent. Join Kermit for a cross-country road trip to the glitz and glamour of Los Angeles, and meet Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Gonzo, Animal, Swedish Chef, and more along the way—with puppeteer and voice performances by Frank Oz and Dave Goelz. Keep an eye out for classic Hollywood comedians including Bob Hope, Cloris Leachman, Steve Martin, Mel Brooks and Madeline Kahn, and find your “Rainbow Connection” this February.
The Parent Trap (1998)
In honor of Women’s History Month, join us for a screening of Nancy Meyers’ directorial debut, The Parent Trap (1998), as we pay homage to the many women who have contributed to making The Walt Disney Studios what it is today. Based on the 1961 Disney classic of the same name, The Parent Trap tells the story of Annie and Hallie, a pair of identical twin girls played by Lindsay Lohan—reprising Hayley Mill’s dual role. The twins are unaware of each other’s exisistence until they cross paths—and fencing swords—at summer camp and hatch a scheme to switch places and meet the parent they never knew. Keep an eye out for a cameo by actress Joanna Barnes, who played the twins’ presumptive step-mother in the original film.
