Special Exhibitions

In addition to its main galleries, which house the museum's permanent collection, The Walt Disney Family Museum has several special exhibition spaces. On the lower level of the main building, the Theater Gallery and Lower Lobby Gallery host small-scale, rotating special exhibitions; these exhibitions are typically free to the general public, or admission to them is included with main museum admission. The recommended viewing time for these exhibitions is generally 30 minutes.

The museum's larger special exhibition space, the Diane Disney Miller Exhibition Hall, is located in a separate building—just behind the main museum—and houses more extensive temporary exhibitions. Special exhibition admission fees vary; the recommended viewing time for exhibitions in the Diane Disney Miller Exhibition Hall is generally 30 minutes to one hour. To access the exhibition hall from the main building, exit through the cafe doors and follow the ramp to your right; the sidewalk will guide you across the back parking lot to the exhibition hall.

Please visit our Exhibitions page for more information about the museum's current, upcoming, and past special exhibitions.

Military Admission and Blue Star Museums

The Walt Disney Family Museum is proud to provide free admission to the main galleries year-round to active and retired military personnel, as well as a spouse or dependent with valid ID.

We are also honored take part in the Blue Star Museums program, which grants free museum admission to military families. Active-duty military personnel and up to five family members with a valid military ID receive complimentary main galleries admission between Armed Forces Day (Saturday, May 21, 2022) and Labor Day (Monday, September 5, 2022).

The Blue Star Museums program is available for those currently serving in the United States Military—Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard (including Reservists), National Guardsman (regardless of status), U.S. Public Health Commissioned Corps, NOAA Commissioned Corps, and up to five family members. The active-duty member does not have to be present for family members to use the program. Qualified members must show a Geneva Convention common access card (CAC), or DD Form 1173 ID card (dependent ID), or a DD Form 1173-1 ID card to redeem free museum admission.

To accommodate our guests safely and to ensure proper distancing, we encourage all guests—including veterans, retired military personnel, and active-duty military families taking part in the Blue Star Museums program—to reserve tickets prior to their visit. We require a valid military ID to be presented with your tickets upon arrival at the museum. Admission is available on a timed-ticket basis with limited capacities set for each time slot. Visit our Tickets page to purchase or reserve tickets.

Ticketing Policies

Children under 12 years of age must be accompanied by an adult who shall be responsible for the child at all times.

Members of NARM, ROAM, or Time Travelers-affiliated organizations are asked to email tickets@wdfmuseum.org to reserve tickets prior to your visit. These tickets will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Proof of NARM, ROAM, or Time Travelers reciprocity required.

If you purchased tickets and need to reschedule your visit, email tickets@wdfmuseum.org. Although no refunds are available, our team is happy to reschedule your visit.

Ticketed Programs & Events

For ticketed programs and events, there is a limit of six tickets available for purchase per household, unless otherwise stated. This includes non-paid ticketed programs and events. The museum reserves the right to void tickets purchased in excess of this limit. In some instances, the museum will impose lower limits based on capacity of venue and/or special considerations.

Due to the overwhelming popularity of programs and events at the museum, tickets often sell out quickly. The museum does not collect waitlists for programs or events; however, if tickets to a sold-out program or event become available, they will be released for purchase on the museum’s website at 10am the day before the event.

If you have purchased tickets to a program or event and are no longer able to attend, you may donate your tickets back to the museum for resale. In order to do so, please send an email to tickets@wdfmuseum.org by 10am, two days before the program or event and provide the confirmation number you received when purchasing the tickets within the body of the email. After 10am two days prior to the program or event, we can no longer accept tickets for donation. Tickets for donation cannot be accepted over the phone or in person at the Ticket Desk.
