Sleeping Beauty is no different, drawing influence from French writer Charles Perrault's story with the same name. Here are just a few differences we found between Disney’s Sleeping Beauty and the Grimm fairy tale on which it is partially based: “Briar Rose.”

Some of the most eye-catching and inspiring pieces of artwork found at The Walt Disney Family Museum are examples of “concept art.” In the context of animated films, concept art determines the look and the feel of an animated world by establishing the color palette and shapes.

The first step to becoming an animator is becoming a student of animation. This week, we had a chat with a former WDFM intern Alex Turner who is a student at San Jose State University in the Animation/Illustration Program and dreams of becoming a feature film animator.
