Welcome Back to The Walt Disney Family Museum

Main Museum and The Walt Disney Studios and World War II Special Exhibition Open Now

Open Thu–Sun, 10am–5pm
Pre-purchased, timed tickets available

Updated August 11, 2021: In accordance with the current San Francisco Department of Public Health mandate and, to ensure a safe and comfortable visiting experience for all, The Walt Disney Family Museum will require all guests and staff to wear masks—regardless of vaccination status—while in museum spaces. Single fabric layer masks, such as gators, scarves, and bandanas, are not acceptable.

Please note: Proof of vaccination is not required to visit the museum galleries—only if attending an in-person program in the theater.

We continue to follow strict health and safety guidelines, detailed below. We appreciate your cooperation and will announce changes to our safety policy on this page.

We are thrilled to welcome you back to The Walt Disney Family Museum in the scenic Presidio of San Francisco. Experience Walt Disney’s uplifting life story showcased through our state-of-the-art galleries, which house hundreds of memorable artifacts, original artworks, and a spectacular miniature model of Disneyland.

Also on view is The Walt Disney Studios and World War II, an immersive exhibition featuring the compelling and multifaceted story of The Walt Disney Studios’ contributions to the Allies’ World War II effort with an array of original artwork, film clips, photos, literature, and more to explore.

To ensure entry, we encourage visitors to pre-purchase tickets before their visit.

We thank you for helping create an enjoyable experience for everyone and are happy to see you back at the museum soon.

In-Person Programs & Films: Proof of Vaccination Required

In an abundance of caution, and in line with the current San Francisco Department of Public Health recommendations, all in-person program ticketholders will be asked for proof of vaccination and photo ID—vaccine cards, photos of vaccine cards, or Digital Vaccine QR codes are acceptable. A negative COVID-19 test will not be accepted. Those ineligible to receive vaccines will not be able to attend in-person events at this time.

Please note: Proof of vaccination is not required to visit the museum galleries—only if attending an in-person program in the theater.

In-person events will be hosted at a reduced capacity to allow for appropriate social distance between parties. All guests will be required to wear a mask that covers their nose and mouth for the duration of the event.

The museum’s current operating hours are Thursday through Sunday from 10am to 5pm, with last gallery entry at 4pm. The museum is closed Monday through Wednesday.

We encourage all guests—including members—to reserve tickets prior to their visit. Admission to the main museum will continue to be available on a timed-ticket basis with limited capacities set for each time slot. Visit our Tickets page to purchase or reserve tickets. Members of The Walt Disney Family Museum are invited to visit our members-only ticket reservation page to reserve your free tickets.

The Walt Disney Family Museum is honored to provide free admission to the museum and this exhibition year-round for active, retired, and veteran military personnel and their spouses and dependents with valid ID.
