- The museum is open Thursday–Sunday, 10am–5:30pm (last entry at 4:30pm) and is closed Thanksgiving Day, December 25, and January 1.

Behavior on Museum Property
- Considerate behavior is expected of all visitors; any individual or group whose behavior is disruptive, aggressive, or offensive to other guests or staff may be asked to leave.
- Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
- Guests ages 14 and older are not permitted to wear costumes in the museum, with the exception of select special events. Our co-founder Diane Disney Miller created the museum as a place of contemplation and inspiration, and did not want costumes to distract from the guest experience.
- We do not allow clothing with objectionable material, including obscene language or graphics.
- Shirts and footwear are required for entry.
- Only materials produced by The Walt Disney Family Museum or its partners are permitted for distribution on museum property.
- Demonstrating and solicitation are not permitted on museum property.
- The Walt Disney Family Museum does not allow independently-organized tours, sketch sessions, meet-ups, or other group activities.
- For the protection of the objects and the comfort and safety of all guests and staff, please refrain from the following while in the museum’s galleries:
- Touching of artwork, cases, or other artifacts. Some displays, monitors, and headsets are interactive and noted as such; if you are unsure, please ask a Guest Experience Associate first.
- Carrying oversized backpacks, large bags, or portfolios
- Carrying children in backpack carriers, on shoulders, or on back
- Eating, drinking, and chewing gum in the museum galleries
- Smoking, including electronic cigarettes and vaping devices
- Running, yelling, or disruptive behavior
- Playing music or recordings at a high volume
Prohibited Items
- For the safety and security of the museum, guests, staff, and the artifacts, Security may ask to inspect your bag or parcel. Security may not allow guests to bring in other items if they deem said items hazardous.
- Prohibited items include:
- Weapons and firearms
- Flammable liquids, explosives and hazardous materials
- Permanent markers and spray paint
- Oversized items including large suitcases, double strollers, wagons and skateboards. (See coat check section)
- Flowers, plants and balloons
Service Animals
- The Walt Disney Family Museum welcomes service animals.
- Under federal law, service animals are dogs trained to work or perform tasks for the benefit of people with physical or mental disabilities.
- Dogs or any other type of animal or pet whose sole function is to provide comfort, companionship, or emotional support—such as a support animal—do not qualify as service animals under federal law and are not permitted in the museum.
Food & Drink
- Food and drink are only permitted in the cafe area.
- Outside beverages can be consumed in the cafe area.
- Outside food is not allowed in the museum but can be consumed on the porch.
Photography & Video Recording
- Please keep your camera flash OFF at all times.
- Non-flash photography and video recording is allowed for personal, non-commercial use.
- Professional camera equipment, including tripods, monopods, selfie sticks, and photography lighting equipment is NOT permitted.
- Material on exhibit is copyright protected; any reproduction of it will be prosecuted as permitted by all applicable laws.
- Members of the press may request special access to photograph and video our galleries by contacting our Press team at press@wdfmuseum.org, or 415.345.6854.
- Filming of museum staff is not permitted.
Cell Phone Use
- We request that guests silence cell phones and refrain from using them while in the galleries.
Sketching in the Galleries
- Due to the nature of our artifacts, pencil is the only medium allowed in the galleries.
- Pens, markers, charcoals, pastels and solvents are not permitted.

Museum Cafe
- The museum cafe is open on museum operating days from 11am–3pm with limited grab-and-go snacks and beverages available.
Coat Check
- Coat check is available only to store large/oversized items that are not permitted in the museum galleries and Museum Store.
- Please inquire at Ticket Desk or by calling 415.345.6843 or emailing info@wdfmuseum.org prior to your visit.
Umbrellas
- Umbrella bags will be provided at the front entrance of the museum and umbrellas may be stored in the provided umbrella stands to be retrieved upon exiting.
- The Walt Disney Family Museum assumes no responsibility for lost, damaged, or stolen umbrellas/items.
Complimentary Wheelchairs & Strollers
- Manual wheelchairs and compact strollers are available free of charge on a first come-first served basis. Please visit the Ticket Desk to check out one of these items.
- Double strollers and wagons are not permitted in the museum galleries or museum store. (See Coat Check section)
Internet Access
- The Walt Disney Family Museum offers free public WiFi by connecting to the WDFMuseum network. Password not required.
Restrooms
- Main restrooms are located on the lower level, just below the Museum Store.
- Two additional universal restrooms are located in the museum galleries.
- Most restrooms are equipped with changing tables.
Water Fountains
- Water fountains are located next to the restrooms on the lower level and in the gallery with the display of miniatures.
Lost & Found
- If you have lost or misplaced an item, please visit the Ticket Desk.
- If you are no longer at the museum and need to contact Lost & Found, please call the Ticket Desk at 415.345.6843 during our normal business hours for assistance or email info@wdfmuseum.org.
