In Alice in Wonderland (1951), Alice encounters multiple characters who mysteriously vanish in front of her very eyes. From the receding coil of the Cheshire Cat’s stripes to the Caterpillar’s engulfing puff of smoke, each character uniquely transitions from a solid being into an empty space. Learn more about Alice in Wonderland in Gallery 7, and then practice thinking in three dimensions as you use translucency to animate a creature dissolving into nothingness.
