Summer Class | Character Design: Anthropomorphic Characters

$725 members | $825 non-members
Mon–Fri, Jun 5–16 | 9am–3pm
In-Person: Learning Center
Grades 3–5

From body shape to clothing, every piece of a character gives a viewer insight into who they are. Join us for this two-week intensive class as you learn what it takes to design memorable and original anthropomorphic characters. As you create a new personality, dive further into stylized animal anatomy, shape language, color theory, and costume design. After experimenting with illustrations and the development process, students will transform their sketches into a final design of their characters.

This class will have an emphasis on both drawing and writing. Students will be expected to take time to do both and share their creations with teachers and the class on a daily basis. Students will not be animating in this course.
