Everyone is a Storyteller Workshop: $12 per person

Discover communication, inspiration, and effective storytelling. Get an insider’s look at Walt’s incomparable storytelling and learn how to apply it to your work. In this whimsical workshop, hear from our certified guides about the techniques we have developed directly from Walt’s body of work. Not just for employees with creative positions, discover how this can improve your skills for every position, including managers, marketing, sales, HR; everyone can become a high-level storyteller!

Lessons From Walt Tour: $12 per person

In this tour, explore themes such as disruption, teamwork, and adapting. Compare the struggles during Walt’s life to the challenges of today in a discussion on the strategies and forward-thinking that Walt adopted in order to overcome multiple failures to find success. This experience is part tour, part breakout for questions/discussions.

Scavenger Hunt: $10 per person

Take a deeper look at our objects with a fast-paced, photo-based Scavenger Hunt of the main museum galleries. In addition to finding our most popular artifacts, you and your team will have an opportunity to get creative and make your own magical memories!

Preserving the Magic of Storytelling: $100 per person

• Capacity: 6 guests per tour
• Length: 1-1.5 hours

Step into a world of wonder and preservation with an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of the museum’s Collections Department. Join one of our knowledgeable team members for an intimate journey of rarely-seen spaces, including the Conservation Lab, Digital Assets Room, and more, where we carefully store and protect rare artifacts that illuminate the legacy of a master storyteller, Walt Disney.

Wonder and Workmanship: A Conservator’s Perspective: $50 per person

• Capacity: 24 guests per group
• Length: 1.5-2 hours

Jump into the pages of your favorite story with one of our bookbinding workshops. Instructed by our knowledgeable Collections Department, learn one of the essential skills of preserving stories.

Intro to Bookbinding

In our introductory book binding workshop, learn four different styles of bookbinding.

Intricate Stab Binding Design

Learn the intricacies of stab binding design and weave the pages of your own stab-bound book in this intermediate workshop.

Gilded-Edge Notebook

In this intermediate workshop, add sophistication and style to your ideas by creating your own gilded-edge notebook.

Make Your Own Sketchbook

Get the full book-binding experience from start to finish by creating a sketchbook with the Coptic binding technique.

Watercolor

• Landscape: Learn the basics of watercolor and the importance of foreground, middle-ground, and background to create a whimsical landscape of your own.
• Self-Portrait: Learn fundamental drawing principles and watercolor techniques to paint a unique version of yourself!

Character Design

• Join us to learn how to draw a mouse, duck, or dog ready for birthday festivities—complete with a party hat and present in tow!

Comics and Cartooning

• Rubber Hose Cartooning: Want to learn how to draw like animators in the 1920s? Look no further! Join us as we show you how to draw characters in the iconic rubber hose style: a popular style for characters with distinctive features, including rounded, flexible, hose-like tubes for limbs.
• Comic Strip: Develop your own short story and learn how to turn it into a dynamic comic strip!

Storyboarding

• Gain an understanding of visual storytelling and how to plan a project or idea using storyboards. Our Studio instructors will discuss how storyboards came to be and their importance to the animation process. From there, you will create your own storyboard and pitch it to your peers!

Designing Costumes

• Learn the importance of costume design in animation and use simple drawing techniques to create an outfit for a character before they head off to their next adventure.

Cartoon Portrait Illustrations

• Dive into the world of cartoons and learn how to make a simple yet dynamic portrait of a character!
