Stop-motion animation dates back to the 19th century and has left a long-lasting impact on the world of cinema. Over the years, artists and animators have utilized stop-motion in various ways, from experimental shorts to feature-length film. As we dive into the history of this art form, see examples of stop-motion using a multitude of materials, including toys! Using animation principles and perspective techniques, you’ll use some of our favorite poseable figures to create an animated short film.

Tickets for Pop-Up Studio | Stop-Motion Animation are available as follows:
- Walt’s Circle Donors: Purchase tickets beginning Tuesday, May 21 at noon by emailing membership@wdfmuseum.org.
- Founding, Supporter, and Friend-level members: Purchase tickets beginning Wednesday, May 22 at noon by emailing membership@wdfmuseum.org.
- All member levels: Purchase tickets online beginning Thursday, May 23 at noon via the Member Portal.
- Public (non-members): Remaining tickets available online beginning Friday, May 24 at noon
