“Step in Time” and join us in welcoming Gregg Sherman—co-writer and producer of Disney’s feature-length documentary, The Boys: The Sherman Brothers' Story (2009), and son of multiple-time Academy Award®- and Grammy Award®-winning composer Richard M. Sherman. Gregg will share stories and unique insights about his father and uncle and their work in writing songs for the beloved classic, Mary Poppins (1964).

About the Speaker

Gregory V. Sherman

Gregory V. Sherman is an Emmy Award®-winning writer, producer, composer, and director. Sherman co-wrote, directed, and produced The Boys: The Sherman Brothers' Story (2009)—Disney’s feature-length documentary on his father and uncle, Academy Award®-winning composers Richard M. Sherman and Robert B. Sherman.

In his television career that spans five decades, Gregg
Sherman has written, composed, and produced over 2,000 hours of television, film, live theater, and concerts. Sherman's shows include the multiple-time Emmy-winning Win Ben Stein's Money (1997–2003) on Comedy Central, Sports Geniuses (2000) on Fox Sports, Debt (1996–1998) on Lifetime, and The Chair (2002) on ABC. His sitcom credits include NBC’s Boston Common (1996–1997) and Billy (1992), and CBS’ Tall Hopes (1993).

In November 2024, Gregg Sherman produced the ABC News documentary The Untold Story of Mary Poppins which aired on ABC and is currently streaming on Hulu and Disney+.

Sherman holds a Bachelor's degree in English from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and his proudest accomplishments are his tremendously talented sons, ages 30 and 24.
