About the Speakers

Jill Breznican
Jill Breznican (Senior Archivist, Walt Disney Animation Research Library) began her career with the ARL in 2008. She works predominantly with development and production teams at Walt Disney Animation Studios to showcase artwork and resources for new shows. She helps facilitate and share biographical information on lesser-known legacy employees through “traceback” articles. She manages “The Princess Research Project” that provides historical, cultural, and artistic context about the princess characters to partners across The Walt Disney Company. She also oversees the ARL’s print and media reference collection, including rare books from The Walt Disney Studios’ original library.

Doug Engalla
Doug Engalla (Researcher, Walt Disney Animation Research Library) joined the research staff at the Animation Research Library (ARL) in 1990. He works with various business units across the company to research, locate, and recommend art imagery from the legacy of Walt Disney Animation Studios for a variety of projects, including art books, displays, consumer product lines, content for home entertainment bonus features, periodicals, theme park attractions; stage, motion picture, and television production; educational programs, and museum exhibitions. He is also an occasional contributor to Disney twenty-three magazine.
