Join us at The Walt Disney Family Museum as we celebrate The Big Draw, the world’s largest drawing festival, on Sunday, September 6! Through various themed activities hosted throughout the museum, we will explore the expressive power of creating through gestures and movements that shape how we see, think, and connect. Our theme for this year’s event, Make a Mark, represents a vital part of the drawing process—allowing for an open and accessible experience for all.
Please note: All activities are free with the exception of the museum galleries, which require paid admission for entry.

Creature Trading Cards | 10am–3pm | Museum Galleries
At this station, design your own creature card to trade with others! Dream up a character from your imagination, visualize its features, and write down its greatest strengths and weaknesses. Once complete, try finding someone to trade cards with, exchange your card with another in our display, or add it to our collection of creative designs!
Line Drawings | 10am–3pm | Museum Galleries
Have you ever tried to create a drawing without lifting your pencil from the paper? Challenge yourself to find an object in our museum galleries and attempt to draw it in one continuous line. Give it a go and see how your drawings flow!
Rapid Gesture Drawing | 10am–3pm | Theater
During film production, artists study live-action references to more accurately illustrate them on paper. Step into the shoes of an animator as you try and sketch the energy and form of a moving subject. As you watch footage, see how quickly you can fill up your page with various poses that tell their own story!
Marble Painting | 10am–noon, 1–3pm | Diane Disney Miller Exhibition Hall
Play for all the marbles in this unique painting activity! Make abstract paintings as you tilt, tip, and roll painted marbles on canvases to create one-of-a-kind kinetic and playful masterpieces.
Claymation | 10am–noon, 1–3pm | Diane Disney Miller Exhibition Hall
“Claymation” is a type of stop-motion animation that involves bringing characters to life via the power of clay. Join us for a sensory experience as you touch, mold, and move clay to see how small, simple, and soft movements can make a big impact in the overall outcome of your short film!
