The Walt Disney Family Museum is proud to continue its partnership with New Hampton School by supporting the school’s summer Animation Camp. During this 10-day overnight camp, students will learn about the the 12 principles of animation, storytelling, and short film development in digital 2D software from the museum’s Education Studio Manager, Travis Lacina, in both individual and group instruction sessions. Students will benefit from six hours of instruction every day working on individual animation projects hosted in the school's animation lab, fully equipped with Wacom tablets and Apple technology. The animation class will also welcome a special guest instructor via Skype, Andreas Deja, a long-time Disney animator best known for his work on Jafar (Aladdin, 1992) and Scar (The Lion King, 1994). Andreas will teach students how to draw the classic Disney character, Mickey Mouse.
