Stop-motion animation dates back to the 19th century and has left a lasting impact on the world of cinema. Over the years, artists and animators have utilized stop-motion in various ways from experimental shorts to feature-length film. Join us in this eight-week class as we dive into the history of this art form. During this class, you will examine and try your hand at various methods of fabricating heads, hair, and replacement pieces for an armature puppet. Then, using animation principles and perspective techniques, you will use your puppet to create an animated scene.
