Portrait Drawing with Felicia Forte

The Walt Disney Family Museum presents a weekly Portrait Drawing Class with the talented and inspiring figurative artist Felicia Forte. 

Felicia has studied at The California Art Institute and The Art Students League of New York. She is a full time artist living in San Francisco, and maintains a studio in Belmont, CA, where she also offers instruction in drawing and painting. She has led workshops at the San Jose Museum of Art and here at The Walt Disney Family Museum. The Portrait Drawing Class will be held in the Museum Learning Center Art Studio on Thursdays from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm, beginning October 6th and continuing through December 15th.

Students will draw from a model, creating new work each day of class. In the first 20 minutes of each class students will warm up with four five-minute portrait quick-sketches. Next Felicia will give a 20 minute demonstration. For The remainder of the 3 hours the model will take one long pose, during which time Felicia will help individual students in need by creating a drawing on a piece of tracing paper placed on top of their drawing, showing how she would proceed from their exact point of view, the students may keep this "tracing" for reference. 

No experience required.
