Join us this Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month for an in-depth look at the creative work of animator, writer, illustrator, and director Sanjay Patel. Following a screening of his 2015 short film Sanjay’s Super Team, Patel will discuss his experiences at Pixar Animation Studios, Disney Television Animation, and Netflix, and share his current work illustrating and animating his Ghee Happy collection of creative projects, including his new book Mahabharata: Designs of Dharma, a modern retelling of an Indian epic.

About the Speaker
Sanjay Patel
Sanjay Patel is an illustrator, animator, writer, and director, as well as the creator of Ghee Happy, a collection of books, animation, and paper products that marry his whimsical style and graphic cuteness with the awesome universe of Hindu deities. During his 20-year career at Pixar Animation Studios, he worked on numerous feature films and directed the short film Sanjay’s Super Team (2015), for which he earned an Academy Award® nomination and an Annie Award® nomination. Most recently, he created an original animated preschool show for Netflix called Ghee Happy which won Best TV/Media - Preschool Series at the 51st Annie Awards.
He lives in Los Angeles with his wife and their two sons.
