Join us for an exclusive virtual Alice in Wonderland-themed “tea” party and chat with internationally acclaimed drag performer Nina West and actress Ashley Eckstein. West and Eckstein will discuss their experiences performing, acting, writing children’s books, their friendship, their mutual love of Disney, and their passion for giving back via charitable work.

Q&A and Requirements

Questions can be submitted during the webinar through Zoom's Q&A function. Due to anticipated demand and limited Q&A time, not all submitted questions will be answered.

All participants must sign up by 5pm PT on Tuesday, June 24. Participants must have a Zoom account to attend the webinar. A link to the webinar and instructions for joining will be sent via email prior to the event.

About the Speakers

Ashley Eckstein

Ashley Eckstein has been widely recognized as an actress, author, designer, entrepreneur, inspirational speaker, and producer. Most known for originating the character of Ahsoka Tano in Star Wars, she voices Ahsoka in projects such as Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (2019), and LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy - Pieces of the Past coming to Disney+ this September. Eckstein founded the fashion and lifestyle brand Her Universe, and Eckstein's designs can currently be found at Disney parks worldwide. Ashley is currently serving as Co-Creator, Executive Producer and starring in a new audio drama for Disney. Eckstein is also a passionate advocate for mental health awareness and is on the National Advisory Council for The Kids Mental Health Foundation.

Nina West

Nina West (Andrew Levitt) rose to international prominence on the 11th season of RuPaul’s Drag Race. Other notable credits include playing Divine in Weird: The Al Yankovic Story (2022), playing Alice in Dragging the Classics: The Brady Bunch (2021), and voiceover work for Nickelodeon’s Blue’s Clues and Baby Shark’s Big Show in addition to appearances on RuPaul’s Secret Celebrity Drag Race, RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 9, Drag Me To Dinner, Bobby Moynihan’s Loafy, Hulu’s The Bravest Knight, and documentaries Lady Like (2024) and Kings, Queens, and In Betweens (2017). On stage, he starred as Edna Turnblad in the national tour of Broadway’s Hairspray The Musical.

West has hosted events around the world, including the 74th Annual ACE Eddie Awards, the Disney+ Pride Special, San Diego Comic-Con, and galas for SAGE and Bring Change to Mind.

Levitt’s charitable foundation, The Nina West Foundation, has raised over $3 million dollars for charities in central Ohio and around the world.

His first children’s book, The You Kind of Kind was published in 2022 by PA Press.

West has performed with Kermit the Frog and The Muppets, and has an upcoming appearance on Tina Romero’s Queens of the Dead.

    When creating theme parks, designers and architects apply their creative minds and technical ingenuity to design ambitious projects. Students will plan their own innovative theme parks using creative thinking, problem solving, and teamwork. They will create their theme park’s rides, shows, food options, and more all within their provided budget, and see if they can run a successful park!

  • Field Trips Virtual
    Walt Disney knew that at the heart of every animated film is a well-told story. Join us on this School Experience as we investigate the basics of narrative structure, establishing interesting and dynamic plots, and creating internal and external challenges that can impact a character’s journey. Students will then develop their own short story.

  • Field Trips Virtual
    Walt Disney was a storyteller whose characters captivated audiences through their unique personalities and distinct designs. Students will learn the fundamentals of character design through the use of shape language, silhouette, and personality traits, and uncover the creative process towards developing unique and memorable characters.

  • Field Trips Virtual
    Create fun and unique art pieces with a painting technique involving small dots, patterns, and colored paints. Students will learn about impressionism and gain a basic understanding of color filling, shading, and tints to create a cohesive art piece.

  • Field Trips Virtual
    Background design is an important part of the storytelling process as it helps give context to the narrative by showing the world in which the characters live. Although not the main focus, backgrounds can amplify and fully immerse an audience. We will discuss industry-standard practices as students delve into perspective fundamentals. Students gain an understanding of overlap, depth, and atmospheric perspective, then apply these concepts to design a layered background.

  • Field Trips Virtual
    The Ink and Paint Department was an invaluable part of the animation process, especially with the addition of color to animated films. In this School Experience, students will learn about the relationship between colors, and how color theory utilizes both art and science in color mixing to achieve a particular visual effect.

  • Field Trips Virtual
    How we travel around the world—in trains, cars, planes, and rockets—has evolved exponentially over the past century as new innovations have been developed. Join us as we explore various modes of transportation, and use colors and shapes to create and design our own scenes with two-dimensional trains and railcars.

  • Field Trips Virtual
    The Walt Disney Studios pioneered storyboarding—an innovative way to convey an artist’s vision and the film’s story for those around them. Join us in this School Experience as we delve into timing, camera angles, camera shots, and how to plan out a visual project in a sequential and visual form. Students will then take on the role of a storyboard artist as they envision their own version of a scene from a script.
