Join us as we continue our celebration of the 70th anniversary of the Jim Henson Company with a deep dive into the life and legacy of Muppet performer Richard Hunt, who brought many iconic Henson favorites—including Scooter, Statler, Janice, Beaker, and Sweetums—to life. We will be joined virtually by award-winning novelistic history author J. Max Stein as she shares insights from her book Funny Boy: The Richard Hunt Biography (Rutgers University Press, 2024).

About the Speaker

Jessica (J.) Max Stein
Jessica (J.) Max Stein writes vivid, novelistic history that brings the past to life. She is the author of Funny Boy: The Richard Hunt Biography (Rutgers University Press, 2024). Her writing has received awards from Poets and Writers Magazine, the Independent Press Association, and the Biographers International Organization. She teaches writing and literature at Hunter College of the City University of New York (CUNY).
