Learning Center

Students take a tour through the galleries highlighting the importance of music throughout Walt's life. With a focus on masterpieces like the Silly Symphonies (1929–39) and Fantasia (1940), the guided tour then transitions students into an interactive workshop where they make music collaboratively using a unique, pitched percussion instrument called Boomwhackers®. Musical lessons learned include: instrument families, tempo versus rhythm, and the ways that music can be used to express mood in a story.

Adapted Workshop

The Walt Disney Family Museum provides accommodating hands-on workshops for students with disabilities or learning differences. Our activities are customized to be inclusive by supporting visual impairments, mobility limitations, autism spectrum disorders, and more.
During the Musical Milestones workshop, students can choose to use app-enabled rings worn on the fingers, that turn colors into music at a controlled volume with simple tapping motions.

Registration for the 2019–2020 academic year is now open. Please email if you have any questions.
