Walt’s journey into the field of animation began with the stop motion method. Before he started producing his own Laugh-O-gram shorts, he worked for the Kansas City Film Ad Company, where he produced stop motion commercials using cutouts (featured in gallery 1). Join us for this eight-week course, during which you will build and animate your own stop-motion puppet. Students will spend the first three weeks learning how to craft and fabricate a stop-motion puppet with wire; this will then be followed by five weeks of experimentation with the principles of animation.
All materials will be provided for students by the instructors. Students should not expect to be animating until week four of the class.
