Many of Walt Disney’s early films were animated adaptations of fairy tales or novels. When it came to producing his first animated feature-length film, Walt chose a favorite Grimm fairytale, Snow White, to bring to life. In this eight-week class, learn how to visually represent words and the meaning behind them as you create an animated adaptation of a different type of written work: a poem. Experiment with animation—following the process from storyboard to short film—as you discover unique ways to visually translate poems, and develop an appropriate stylistic design to create an immersive and emotionally expressive experience.
