Internships

Walt Disney strongly believed in lifelong learning, and the Walt Disney Family Museum is committed to continuing this tradition by offering two types of unpaid internships. Whether you are a student in high school or college, we will work with you to develop a structured, supported, and customized learning experience. Interns have an orientation with a member of the museum's leadership team, job shadow with a relevant museum specialist, conduct informational interviews with staff, and work on a culminating project. By meeting with staff from across the organization, interns gain a holistic view of museum work and its place in the larger community.

Opportunities for Post-Secondary Students

More advanced students have specialized learning needs. Where one may wish to learn about marketing and communications for non-profit organizations, another may have a deep interest in exploring collections management. When the learning interests of students intersect with existing museum capacity, the Walt Disney Family Museum will work with interns to create a tailored learning plan that encapsulates both content and professional experiences to meet each individual goals. Each plan outlines a culminating project that provides the learner a chance to work with museum staff to create a relevant capstone activity. Please note that all internships are unpaid unless explicitly stated otherwise.
