Join Pixar Animation Studios animator and children’s book author and illustrator Mike Wu for a reading of his newest children’s book, Ellie in Concert. In this special family-friendly event, learn all about his collaboration with composer Andy Jimenez to create unique musical themes for Ellie the elephant. This reading will include a live musical performance by Andy, followed by a Q&A and book signing with Mike. Both Ellie and Ellie in Concert will be available at the Museum Store. The first 10 book purchases will receive a free Ellie in Concert tote created especially for the book.

About the Speakers
Mike Wu is the author and illustrator of Ellie, which was selected as one of NPR’s best books of 2015. He is also the illustrator of the Oodlethunks series. When he’s not making books, Wu animates at Pixar, where he has worked on The Incredibles, Ratatouille, Up, and Toy Story 3, among other movies. He attended the renowned California Institute of the Arts, and he is the creator of children’s clothing and gift line Tiny Teru. Wu lives in the Bay Area with his family. Andrew Jimenez has been with Pixar Animation Studios since 2000 and was the co-director and writer of the Academy Award-nominated short film, One Man Band, and co-director of photography on the Incredibles. He has also worked as a storyboard artist and camera supervisor for Finding Nemo, Finding Dory, Toy Story 3, WALL-E, Ratatouille, Monster’s University, Cars, and Coco. Jimenez’s other work includes The Iron Giant, Spiderman, and Tomorrowland. He is currently working on Incredibles 2 and composing music for several live action and animated short films.
